Thank you for ordering from SweetBites by Hiba. These terms describe how we take orders, what we promise, and what we ask of you. They apply whenever you order from us, whether through this site or over WhatsApp.
Who we are
SweetBites by Hiba is a home bakery in Zgharta, North Lebanon. Everything we sell is made to order in a home kitchen by hand.
How an order is made
This website is not a shop checkout. Adding items to your order list and sending it over WhatsApp is a request, not a completed order.
An order exists only once we have replied on WhatsApp and confirmed the items, the price and the day. Until then nothing is reserved and nothing is owed.
We may decline or postpone an order — usually because the day is full or an ingredient is not available. We will always tell you rather than leave you waiting.
Prices and payment
Prices on this site are in US dollars and are a guide. The price we confirm on WhatsApp is the price, and it is the only one that binds either of us.
Items marked "Price on request" are quoted individually, because size, decoration and occasion change what they cost.
We take no payment through this website and never ask for card details. Payment is made offline by Whish Money, OMT or cash.
Still being finalised: whether a deposit is required for custom and large orders, and how much.
Notice, collection and delivery
Custom and celebration cakes need notice — at least 48 hours, and longer in busy weeks. We will tell you the earliest day we can do when you ask.
We deliver in Zgharta and the North, and can arrange delivery further afield for larger orders. The delivery charge is confirmed with your order, before you commit to it.

Changing or cancelling an order
Tell us as early as you can. We can usually change an order that has not been started.

Allergens, and what a home kitchen can promise
Everything is made in a kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs and sesame. We cannot promise that any item is free of any of them, and we do not offer allergen-free products.
Where an item contains something worth flagging we say so on its page. If you have an allergy, tell us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Handmade means not identical
Photographs on this site show what an item usually looks like. Colours, decoration and finish vary between one cake and the next, which is what handmade is.
Where an exact look matters — a colour to match a party, a specific decoration — send us the picture on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we can do before you order.
If something is wrong
Tell us on WhatsApp on the same day, with a photograph if you can. We would far rather fix an order than have you not come back.
Still being finalised: what we offer when an order is wrong — remake, refund, or partial refund — and the time limit for asking.
Reviews you send us
A review sent through this site is read by a person before it appears, and may not be published at all. We publish your first name, your rating and your words, and nothing else.
Do not send anyone else's personal information, anything untrue, or anything you would not put your name to. We remove reviews that break that.

The words, photographs and design on this site belong to SweetBites by Hiba. Please do not copy them for another shop.

Which law applies
These terms are governed by Lebanese law.
Still being finalised: the courts that would hear a dispute, and any consumer rights that apply regardless of what is written here.
